Repassage Gallery was the name given in 1973 to a small gallery formally owned by the Polish Students' Association, located at Krakowskie Przedmieście, close to the University of Warsaw. From 1970, it hosted artistic activities organised by graduates and students of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1973-1978, it was led by Elżbieta and Emil Cieślar, former students of Oskar Hansen and Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz. Grzegorz Kowalski, who was involved with the gallery throughout all of its history, can be seen as its “éminence grise”.
